Do I get e-mail with my website?
Yes. We supply pop e-mail for use with Outlook and other pop mail programs, e-mail forwarding and even ONLINE mail so that you can access your mail from anywhere.
Can I see how many visitors I've had?
Yes, we supply comprehensive graphical stats from AWSTATS, awstats.sourceforge.net This shows you when people visited and from where, what browsers they use and much much more.
Will search engines pick me up?
Yes, we register all new sites with the top search engines like Google and Yahoo, and there are Meta Tag editors built into our CMS solution.
Can I add pages myself?
Yes, as long as you have not reached your page limit, you can add, edit and delete pages at will.
Can I have files on my site?
Yes, you can add Microsoft Word documents, Adobe PDFs, quicktime files and more. There is a size restriction of 2mb, but this is ample for most documents.
Does my site have to be hosted by Package Web Inc.?
Originally we could not find any hosts who installed the open source technologies that we used. However if your current hosts have the following we can arrange hosting with them: 1. PHP version 4 or later 2. MySQL version 3 or later 3. GD libraries enabled in PHP 4. Dynamic loadable libraries enabled 5. 'Safe mode' switched OFF
Can I register my domain name through Package Web Inc.?
Yes, we can register domains such as .com, .net, .org, .uk, .org and so on.
Can I transfer my existing domain name to Package Web Inc.?
Yes. Please ask us and we can arrange transfer to us.
Is there a manual for your CMS?
No. We are developing it currently and it will be available from our website soon. All customers who have a website will receive a free copy as soon as it is completed.
Can I change my website template?
Yes, you can either supply us with a design which we will implement, or we can design a new one for you.
Can I have more than 1 template?
Yes, you can have as many as time and budgets allow.
Does your CMS work with Mac and PC?
Yes. It is purely browser driven.
Which browsers does your CMS work with?
Netscape V5 upwards. Explorer V5 upwards (PC). Safari V1 upwards. We aim to support as many browsers as possible, but we urge customers to keep up to date with browsers as they are free on the whole!
Do I need to install any software?
No. the only software you may wish to install is our own image resizing software. However if you use any image applications such as Adobe Photoshop you will not need to do this.
Can other people help me with updating my website?
Yes. You can share an administrator password, add new administrators, or you can set multilevel page editing, to allow only certain pages to be edited by your elected administrators.
Can I have a shopping cart?
Yes. We can arrange a shopping cart and secure credit card connections.
When can I update my content?
You can access your administration areas 24/7 through a browser.
Is there any training provided with Package Web CMS?
Training may be included in the original quotation, otherwise this can be arranged at our standard hourly rate. We do give e-mail support as well as online design and HTML tips.
